Now That

Now that she is walking away,

I stand alone in darkness;

A pain that kills in a single sway;

A word reminding harshness.

A waiting that is ending soon,

A hope that is facing doom;

A night so long devoid of moon,

I stand in the secret room.

The touch that meant life to me --

Those lips will speak no more;

And drowning in this deep dark sea,

I will be free from chore.
