My lips blaze a familiar trail

along your skin.

An earlobe, a brush of your lips against mine

a tongue to taste its way

along this well worn path.

It is comfort this path,

this knowing.

The scent of your skin-

the salt of your sweat,

a lullaby

The sounds that fall from your lips,

declarations i mouth into your flesh,

goosebumps that travel

down only one leg - -

braille for my lips to read.

these imprints remain on my bed

handprints, toemarks, perfect circles,

snowangels in their own right.

memories of our love

remain here - -

long after the sheets have gone cold.
