THE FEAR!

I looked at her eyes,

Her raven coloured dark smouldering eyes.

For some, they were a sight to behold,

For me, however, they were waiting for a story to be told.

Where some saw beauty I saw pain.

What you found pretty, I thought was drained...

Drained of hope and feelings and the jest of moving on,

No, she was not weak, don’t get me wrong.

She was made of strength and was beautiful in a subtle kind of way,

Yet she was lonely, desolate, with a heart which would never sway.

She knew of broken hearts and of teary eyes,

And of life, full of deceit and lies.

She would say that she is better off alone,

And that staying off the edge is better than hitting the stone.

You would say she is a coward for giving into her fears...

But you don’t realise, that it requires greater courage to stay afar,

A greater motivation to see ‘what could have been’ and still not wobble,

Being prudent beforehand prevents you from the hobble.

The fear is not of falling down or getting hurt or not of being able to get up, No

The fear is of realising, that the plunge was not worth it.

The fear is of realising, the time that was wasted.

The fear is of memories that will haunt your shack, dragging a piece of you to hell and back.

The fear is of playing the blame game in the mind and losing at it, every single time.

The fear is of being terrorised by your own thought, to constantly spin yarns about the battles that were lost.

The reason of not jumping off the cliff is not the fear of going down and taking the bet,

But the fear of not coming back from that abyss of profound nothingness!

So she sits and watches her dreams fly by, she says it’s better not to take a plunge

But all she does is to think about the jump!
