who do you trust, when so few are sane?

Cry Wolf:
Everyday I’d invite my friends
To come over and play
With cap guns
Until our hair split ends
Pointing toy guns
Taunting each other discredits a mother
Till our cries of bloody murder
Remain trapped in a make pretend encloser
One day—one friend
Brought a real gun instead
Not knowing the innocence blood runs
Mother says
It’s just a game
And everything should go on
Just the same
All is well that ends well
All friends rebel when loyalty expels
Our memories into a waste basket
I’ll cry wolf---its shrills
And not just for thrills
Because you know it represents
A false spilt milk pretense
I’m crying sheep
Because I’m a hypocrite
Mightiest minds become meek
When blood rushes to my bottom lip
Hesitates and
Bite as hard as you can
Bite right in
Into my salt lick
And pour kerosene
Onto my white fleece
And watches the colors
