I saw myself in the street,

But it wasn't me,

It was just a laughing child,

Someone i used to be,

I saw him laughing and runnning around,

And it almost made me cry,

What i would give to live one day like his,

But i fear i will never try.

I saw myself in the street,

But it wasn't me,

He was a young, care-free teen,

Someone i longed to be,

I remember what it was like,

The whole world in my hands,

Getting high, letting the world pass by,

Now all i make is stands,

I saw myself on the street,

But it wasn't me,

It was a man, his wife, and his daughter,

It was a beautiful sight to see,

I saw commintment and love,

Which any man can adore,

But deep down inside, is it selfish,

To want just a little more?

I saw myself in the ground,

But it wasn't me,

It was an old dirty headstone,

In a place where i could be,

Then i realized, life is for living,

Never wanting to miss a beat,

And whenever i want to see myself,

I should look into a mirror, not in the street.
