Feast In The Forest

I can see the moon. Its silver beams dancing on my face.

It's cold and I shiver. I pull my coat over me.

It's dark. There's hardly anything that I can see.

It makes me feel very uncomfortable.

I hear noises behind me. Twigs snap, Leaves rustle.

I'm getting scared.

My pace quickens. Heartbeat quickens too.

Something is coming in the night.

No one could help me. Or hear me if I scream.

I'm not alone in the darkness anymore.

I turn around. Something is there.

I can't see it but I can feel its breath on my face.

I'm frozen. Not because of the cold. Because Of fear.

It freezes my blood rushing through my veins.  Hardens my heart.

The creature speaks.  I hear no words. Only a voice that is a lullaby to my ears.

I have to break this hypnotising spell.

For now I see its eyes in the darkness. Its chilling red eyes.

I release a strangled scream. It leaps at me.

We both become airborne, then hit the forest floor.

It snaps its jaws at me. I feel it tearing my flesh.

The red mercury that I call my blood, flows to the forest floor. Staining my clothes.

It stops then stalks off. Looking for new prey? I can't tell.

I lie still on the ground, unmoving.

My last scream stuck in my throat. My eyes filled with silent tears.

I cannot talk. My throat has been torn.

I can feel the blood, slowly choking me. I start to cough. More blood stains my mouth.

Darkness enclosing me.

The last thing my eyes capture. The worst thing to happen yet.

For the hunter of the night has brought friends. To feed on me in the darkness.

I close my eyes.

I hope that sooner rather than later, death will relieve me.

Then The Feast Begins....
