the struggles of love (men)

night falls in
darker and darker
it looms over the unexpected soul
stripped of all he knows
robbed of his manhood
it swoops down
one smile and he hooked
one kiss and he is lost
one look into its eyes
he is her prisoner
never seen it coming
never thought it would happen
gives his soul
gives his life and wealth
giving up all rational thought
he gives up his reality for its devious decadence
with blinders on
the surreal thoughts of love
swoon his every moments
all he was
all he is
is now in its full grasp
the thing once beautiful
now crumbles
beneath the ash
it takes its true form
the fingers tighten its grasp
he can not run..
he can not flee
its carnal and unmerciful grasp
will not free him
clinching tighter and tighter
until it squeezes the last breath
this unsuspecting soul
this sorry pile of shame and misery
is now hers
now its latest victim
its latest refreshment
its latest groom
its latest conquest
