A A A

I guess I made quite a joke, really,
When I said I'd no longer
Write about you.

No more reviews and proses,
No more ponderings about stolen pictures,
No more coffees at daybreaks
And secret nomenclatures.

No more, no more.

But whenever I write about
something else,
Maybe the moon or constellations,
I find it hard not to think of you,
Not when you made it seem
That stars are not really that far,
Not nearly as distant as those eyes
that search the milky ways
Of my heart.

Or when I do about God,
I find myself thinking that
There is no god at all,
Not when all I could pray about
is you,
And your sole.

Or the trees that made this acrid paper,
The scorching ravens flying on cadaver,
The woeful picture of me looking at
shattered glass windows,
( I sit with a sigh)
And the stretch of greeneries on
Memories of suncrest sunsets
Everytime you say goodbye.

It all comes down to you.

I guess I made quite a joke,
really, when I stopped
writing about you,
Because the more I think of it,
the more I had to make myself see,
That I turned this poem
Into something
I didn't want it to be.
