It is growing dark as the sun says goodnight,

I wonder where you are.

Are you safe? Are you happy? Are you loved?

I miss your touch and your comforting hug.

As the snow melts and turns into bright green leaves,

People come and go out of my life.

Yet somehow you are always on my mind.

“It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.” People encourage me.

My mind whirls like the wind and dismisses this.

How can it be better to know your soft lips kissing my nose and have them slip like water through my fingers?

I miss you more than I can say, yet more than anyone can see.

You are always with me, my ghost of lovers past.

Like a cub searching for her mother,

I search faces, streets and buildings for you.

Stuck in this eternal fight between my heart and my head.

I will self-destruct soon unless you return home soon to my heart.
