If I kept emotions like these bottled up, I would have spontaneously combusted by now. This one is another oldie of mine. It is also the representation of Pride in my Seven Deadly Sins series.

Oh, love is a thorn-ridden tangle of vines.
Sweet-smelling claws rip holes in your mind.
Tendrils unwind for some interesting times,
But then there’s a thorn in your side.

Tears fall and water the pretty white petals,
Human lust stains them all black….

It’s all your fault that you killed love’s white petals,
Without help you can’t bring them back.

All quite alone and stuck in the brambles,
You realize that you’ve ruined
The respect of a friend
And the life of your loved one.

Was it all worth the cost of the fun?
You want to hide now,
Run from the bright light.
Torn you have tried now,
But you’ve been defeated.

Joyfully the roses bathe in your blood sacrifice,
Knowing your heartbreak but it still won’t suffice.

They want you and hold you in piercing long arms,
Twisting and turning
Wrapping and burning,
Taking you down for your lies…

Lies that you told out of fear for losing your loved one,
Bite you and gnaw you with living young thorns.

Now you’re lost,
And there’s no one to find you,
Bound in this pain that you’ve caused…

Your faults come to find you,
To tie you and bind you,
With an undying love of the one that you hurt…

But your love won’t come back to you,
Bleeding young liar,
Watch as it all falls apart…

Bleeding and burning in this house of roses,
You built it yourself.
So stay here,
And lie here,
Bleed here and
Die here,
Here in this pain that you’ve caused.

You’ve lost them, your loved one,
And it’s all your fault….
