This poem just came to me as I was falling asleep. It is just about coming to see the person that you want to see and even though it might not be what you want it to be, you can still treasure it just the same.

I come to you my dear love's saint
To look at you so dim and faint
Guarded by the shadows of the night
To protect your slumbering right
I cast the shadows away and see
Your silhouette against the dark sheets
I come to you softly, barely heard
I used the wings of love to fly like a bird
I haven't seen you in a long time
So this hour will be mine
Minutes felt like hours and days felt like years
When the clock struck 12 I couldn't believe my ears
I get to finally see you
Even though you're sound asleep
I get to touch you even though you won't feel it
And yet I'll treasure every minute
I get to kiss you even though you won't return it
But inside I feel that you will know it
I get to whisper in your ear
Even though you won't hear it
I can hear your soft breathing
And your heart slowly beating
I know that once the nmorning comes,
I will have to leave you at once
But for now the night is ours
And I will continue to hold you in my arms.
