What a gloomy afternoon
The sun won't show and neither would the moon
Instead the sky is filled with grey
As dark and heavy clouds look down with dismay
They surrender the sun and sent it away
For they are the rulers of this gloomy day
The wind scatters the leaves much like the stars in space
As the eager raindrops begin their endless race
Just like a rhythm, just like a rhyme
The rain has no limit on time
It can end in a heatbeat or go on for days
Dark like depression in its own ways
Endless wetness that feels like slime
Cold shivers are sent down my spine
Maybe the wind will chase the clouds away
So the sun will come back to stay
But for now it is dark and wet
And the world sleeps in a warm bed.
