"You're sure you won't tell anyone?" "I swear to it." "You know I'll be really mad if you're lying." "I'm not, why don't you just believe me?" I didn't know who I could trust anymore. Yesterday I ended the life of someone, yet little remorse took to me.

The sun was rising over the horizon, a brilliant yellow with a bright shine. The light woke me up from my slumber, and the past events from last night flooded my mind. I'd left my mother alone at the house, I left the house at night, I killed someone... There was too much for me to process, so I thought about the things one by one. My mother would be heartbroken when she realized that I had left. The authorities would also being looking for me, so I couldn't stay in one spot. And the person I killed, did I really have to do that? So what if he's a real jerk, it doesn't mean I have to kill him. But what happened happened, and there is nothing I can do about it. I got up from the tree I was sleeping on and looked around. There was fresh grass and vegetation, and the trees had a rich dark wood bark. The sun was just rising from the horizon, so I could tell that it was morning. I walked around a bit, careful not to step on any of the flowers or the tufts of tall grass. There was a river stream, and I followed it to a big lake. On one side of the lake, there were rabbits just lying down. On the other side of the lake, there was a deer drinking from it. I knew that my presence would scare off the animals, so I just decided to walk back the way I came. There wasn't much left of the trees in that area around the lake, and I thought that it was due to man. I went back to where I fell asleep and took off my hoodie, and there was dried blood on and in it. I lied down against the tree, and I found something really odd; there was a column of smoke rising from a group of trees. I decided to walk towards the smoke and see what it was. At first, I thought it was a forest fire, either natural or purposely set. What if it was a warning to me? I proceeded cautiously, and found the smoke coming from a paper factory. There were many delivery trucks there, and some were filled to the top with lumber. There seemed to be only a few employees, so maybe I could sneak past. I was doing quite well, but someone came from behind me. "What are you doing here?" I thought I knew the voice, but I just couldn't think at the moment. I whirled around to see a girl from my school. "I can ask you the same thing." "Well, seeing as it's 'Bring your daughter to work', I was forced to come here. What brings you here?" I was wondering if I should tell her what happened. She is a friend, but then again it might be a bit too hard for her. A little white lie might get me out of this situation I thought. "I was looking at the forest, then I saw that smoke, and followed it here." I did follow the smoke, so I wasn't completely lying. "That's a lie, I can tell. You don't like forests, especially because of that one game we played." "Well at least there's light in this one." "Whatever. Why are you really here?" "It's something that's really serious. You can't tell anyone." "I won't, what is it?" "You're sure you won't tell anyone?" "I swear to it. Now spill it." "You know I'll be really mad if you're lying." "I'm not, why don't you believe me?" I didn't know who I could trust anymore, seeing as I've left so much behind, I even killed someone, yet little remorse came to me. "Come on, why won't you tell me?" "Alright, Kate, you wanted the truth, you're about to get it. Yesterday night I had left my house in the middle of the night because there was nothing to do. I was walking around until I ended up in the bad territory, you know." "Yeah, the alley of those bastards. Go on." "I ended up there, not knowing where I was going, then Hunter showed up." "Ugh, that dumb idiot?" "Well, I got upset, real upset, then it ended up in me stabbing him with my pocket knife, then shoving his broken beer bottle into his throat." "Oh god." Her face had looked pale to me. "You feeling alright?" "Not really, you seemed like the quiet type, one that wouldn't do things like that." "Well, you know I lose my temper a lot." There was a loud, deep call. "Kate, where are you?" Kate sighed. "It's my dad, I got to go. And don't worry, I won't tell anyone about what happened, and that I saw you here. Because if your mom called the police to find you, she'll give specific details." "Yeah. Well, see ya." I ran off into the forest so her father wouldn't see me. I could barely hear them. "What were you doing out here Kate?" "I was looking around, is that alright?" "It's fine, but I want to be able to keep an eye on you, this forest is easy to get lost in." I got out of their earshot in a matter of seconds. I saw a highway, and stopped dead in my tracks. There were many police cars parked there, and there were SWAT agents with them. I didn't know if they were looking for me or not, but I didn't want to stay around and find out. I hid in some bushes, and after around 10 minutes, they left. I got up from the bushes and waked around them. My foot caught on something, and before I knew it, I was flipped upside down. "Ooh, I caught us a big one!" I saw a crazed man jump out from some foilage, and he looked wild alright. "Aww, it ain't a deer, false alarm. Wait, do you like little boy for lunch? Yes? Well then, let me go get it!" He came rushing at me with a sharp knife. I didn't want to know what he wanted to go for, the net or my skin, but before I could answer my question, some brawly teenager came rushing in with an axe and tackled the man. "Get out of here, or by god I'll smash your head in!" "Looks like we get two boys! This one's got more meat though." The man licked his lips. "I warned you." The teenager brought his axe up and stuck it in the man's right leg. "AAGH!" The man seemed to be in much pain. The teenager took the axe out and kicked the man square in the head, knocking him out. He came over to the net and cut me down. "Hey, I'm Todd." "Conner." "How'd you get in that net?" "I didn't see that guy's trap, and it caught me." "Oh." "Why'd you save me?" "You're the one who got Hunter, right?" Did Kate tell him? "Yeah, that's right, he set me off, so he got what was coming to him." "Well, he kept taking my brother's money, and since he usually has a posse, I can't get him head on. It's a good thing he's gone though." "How'd you know?" "I saw him and some other person fighting, and I had to assume it to be you, seeing as your shadows match." He had a silly face saying that. "Why were you down there?" "I was gonna challenge him then, but it seems that you did that for me." "I was just walking around and ended up there. He came out from the alley and challenged me." "Hmm, sounds like him." There was a long silence between us. Finally I decided to end the silence. "What are you gonna do now?" "Some biker gang called 'Judgement' took my sister last night, so I'm heading after them." 'Well, since I have nowhere to go, would it be alright if I go with you Todd?" "Yeah, we're gonna need more than one person to go after them, mostly because of traps." "Yeah, I couldn't reach my knife, otherwise I'm not sure how that'd turn out." I saw a figure running towards us at full speed. "Who's that?" "That's Kate." "Hey Conner, who's that?" "This is Todd. Hunter stole his brother's money, so when I got rid of Hunter, Todd saved me from that net." "Um, couldn't you of just cut it down?" "There was a crazed man, and then Todd came in, tackled him, and got his right leg with his axe." Todd lifted up his blood-glistened axe. "Oh, please don't show me that again." "And some biker gang called 'Judgment' stole his sister, so he's going after them." "Oh." "Hey, I saw a group of police and SWAT agents, do you think they were chasing after them. "Not sure, only one way to find out." Todd ran up to the highway and followed the way he saw cars in the distance. "Well, you better get back to your dad before you worry him again." "Ok ok. Make sure you don't get yourself killed." I walked up to the highway and followed behind Todd. If those cops were after that biker gang, we had to be careful. "Hey, how old are these bikers?" "Maybe around 20 years old. I'm only 15." "I'm 14." "Well we both got skill, so there's no reason we can't get rid of them." "Yeah, let's do this." We kept on jogging until we saw the police and SWAT agents. They were shooting off somewhere in the forest, so the biker gang was that way. Todd and I broke into a run, ready to get rid of all of them.
