Thy laughter and thy smile are to me

Like waves and sand are to the sea.

Where roaring waves make no thunder

And Poseidon takes no plunder.

Trumpet tongued Angels that in envy choke their wind,

For your voice opaques what they sing,

Think not of lust but of love

That in bed chambers exist.

In melodic trumpets or in roaring thunder

If I hide, I do blunder.

For in thy lack of shadow

Our love, harmoniously, does grow.
