"The Truth May Kill You"

Trust me when I say

The truth may kill you.

When you look back and realize who was there.

When you look at who's gone.

And when you look ahead at who will soon leave.

Trust me when I say

I was the only one who truly loved you.

Unconditional, flaws and all.

Despite all of the pain, all of the tears, and all of the anger

I was there.

I listened when you spoke,

I wiped your tears when you cried,

I pulled you back up when you fell.

Trust me when I say

I held you high on a pedestal,

And no matter how many times you slipped and fell,

I was always there to push you back up.

I believed in you,

I trusted you,

I loved you.

But trust me when I say

The truth may kill you.

The truth that I won't be there anymore.

The truth that I won't love you anymore.

The truth that you will have to live a life without me.

The truth that I will be there to watch it kill you.
