It has many themes; Can be interpreted a lot of different ways...guess that's why it's a poem..ha okay, go ahead, read :)

They say that I’m addicted,

But sadness is more than a feeling

It’s like the devil pulling down on me.

They say that I’ve been blinded-

Not by the light but the darkness.

And it’s creeping through every part of me.

Like scissors; Snipping off every stitch of my humanity-

The stitches hang now,

Some of them fall out.

Now my heart only beats because I’m breathing

No stitches to give it meaning…

I don’t have time to sew

So I tape myself and hope my laziness doesn’t show

I wanna be fixed but it’s like I don’t have the right supplies.

Tape it up and hope the blood will dry

But it flows

My angriness shows

My pathetic tries at fixing myself have flew away in the wind

Waiting for some other sad person to grab onto it;

To make the same mistake that I did.

 One day I was walking-

Still on recovery

A crow flew unto my shoulder

Someone let this one go in the wind.

I expected him to fly off but he stays

As if my glares weren’t scary enough.

I accept my new friend and keep walking.

He turns to me and starts talking.

Surprised, I listened intently.

He tells me: “Go buy a needle and a thread”

I kinda laughed but I went to the store and I did.

I was up all night fixing my stitches.

The crow never did leave.

Sometimes things only appear to be scary,

Like me…

My God you get better every write! Amazingly I felt the character's fears then the sudden diminishment of them in this piece. It was profound to be able to peer into her emotional doubt. Really this would have been great lyrics to a song as well perhaps sang by Tool or Soundgarden.

That means a lot. I'm glad to be getting better. Sometimes I can't tell which ones are better so it's cool when people tell me what they thought. Thanks a lot. I wonder if I could do lyrics

Mr Watson

Great imagery. Dark poetry at it's best.

Again this is a great verse full of the dark symbolism and imagery that I have come to expect from you, unmasked dellusions.

Chris

Trying to catch up with Booksie, so decided to stop by. I really liked this, it reminds me of a poem I wrote a while back (I love the idea of sewing back the scars we receive in life) so nice concept and all. I like your free way of rhyming... I don't know if this makes sense, but it's like you create almost rhymes instead of complete rhymes. There were a few times where you used actual rhymes, but other than that most of them didn't rhyme but sounded the same... idk if I'm explaining this clearly but whatever. I wish I had a crow to help me sew lol. Awesome poem

Well thanks for stopping by then :) And yeah I tend to break the rules. I get what you mean. Maybe it's because it's all coming to me so fast that what comes out isn't exactly correct rhymes but it's just what my mind thought at the second but when I read it when I'm finished- even though their not exact rhymes I feel like it works ha. I don't know if that make sense either...? Anyways Thanks for commenting

The analogies in this are so well done and if you hadn't proven yourself already this would have certainly done so, your technique and thoughts are well presented as always and it's good to see that you keep bringing new ideas to the table, nice work.

Tiny needle, huge string

I don't know why, but I find the cover of this quite funny. I know when I sew, it's usually takes me several tries before I can get the string through the little loop. It's frustrating! :3
This starts off- and I'm sure it will sum up- with some quite poignant imagery. And metaphors, too! "Sadness is like the devil pulling down on me," Such a relatable line, such a real, scary image.
"So I tape myself and hope my laziness doesn't show," love this line! :)
Yikes, I don't know how I'd feel about a crow landing on my shoulder! D: Apparently crows will eat anything, they're known superstitiously to eat the eyes of dead people- since eyes are soft and gushy, open. 8/ Kinda reminds me of that scene from- I think Pirates of the Carribean :At Worlds End where these crows and other birds are torturing people and eating them basically. :/
"I was up all night fixing my stitches," is a comforting thought- but meh! The crow staying, scary! I don't care how scary it isn't, I don't want one on me!
But the crow seems super friendly to our MC, helpful. A friend, in a what seems lonely world. :)

I found the picture funny too ha, it definitely is frustrating getting the string through. You don't like crows huh? ha. I love them that's why I picked a crow to be that friend to bring him out of his loneliness plus it might not even be an actual crow, thats just what how he sees it in his imagination. Thanks for the comment

A quick fix with tape or a proper stitch up? Depends on the extent of the damage I guess. And that crow.......unusual to see them portrayed as one of the good guys. Excellent!
