The whole world stopped and stared for a while

Like they had a care

Like they weren't just rabid bears;

Waiting to pummel anything that might look scared.

Walking down the street all these cougars are staring at me;

Hunting me- coming up with a good plan so they can strike.

They can kill me for good; they don’t even need a knife.

Their watchful eyes are the scariest things,

I’d rather see floating heads without bodies,

Even little fairies talking to me.

I’d rather be stranded with real bears then standing in this crowd

Where I don’t even know-

If these animals are going to mess with me or leave me alone.

Maybe these animals are just people and I’m the one that’s scary.

But I can never know,  I can’t really see me.

People tell me to walk my own path-

So I go out in the forest and I leave some crumbs

So I’m never lost for good

So I’m never too far gone-

But silly me the crows just gobbled them up.

You know what?

It wasn’t like Hansel and Gretel; I never found any sort of cabin,

I’m still wandering these woods hoping to find sweet haven.

But there’s nothing like that here on earth –

So how come I’m still searching?

And how do I know that’s what I deserve?
