I heard the other day where a teacher said they could not use the word Easter for the holiday for it is a religious statement. Well, Easter is a religious holiday. It always amazes me how atheists and other religions deny Christ, but want to celebrate His holidays. If you are not a believer why bother?
Today, people in America are trying everything they can think of to do away with Jesus. They have taken the Bible out of the schools; and as a result, we have violence and killings…and it's getting worse all the time. Our nation is in danger, but Jesus said things would be like this in the last days. And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed (Luke 17:26-30). That day is now.
If Jesus had not come from Heaven there would have been no way to get there for He is the only way. I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). He is the door, the salvation. Anyone trying to get in any other way is a thief and a robber.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Jesus was not forced to come to earth, it he chose freely to become the sacrifice for humanity, the Father never forced Him to do it.
The Bible tells the beautiful story of the Virgin Mary becoming the mother of Jesus. And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God (Luke 1:26-30). You have to find favor with God before He'll choose you for a special mission. Many peeople calime to want to be used by God but won’t pay the price.
This Easter remember the reason for the season. Jesus came and conquered death, hell and the grave. The power of His Resurrection is still working today if you only believe. That same power that rose him from the grave will one day soon raise His Bride from the ground. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:2,3).
Jesus is a true friend; a true companion I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). Are you burdened with this life? You need not be Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
The hour is a late one and the end-time signs are nearly all fulfilled. This Gospel will be brought to all nations no matter how the devil may try and fight it. It will be the Gospel of Holiness And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein (Isaiah 35:8). And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17,18).
So, this Easter remember the highway Jesus paved for humanity with his blood, sweat, and tears. If you have not seen the movie The Passion I highly recommend it. It is very accurate. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (I John 3:8)
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death (Philippians 3:10).
