I first want to say that it has been brought to my attention that I use too many scriptures. I do not understand “how” one can use too many, but I want to explain why I do. I do this because what I am speaking of I seek no glory or recognition of my own, I am trying to stress that what I am saying is not my opinions, but the Word of God. If people dispute that it isn’t my words they do not like, but God’s. Now, continuing on.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:22). If one cannot backslide, why did Jesus say he that endures to the end will be saved? In other words, IF one does not endure they will not be saved. This was the words of Jesus Himself. One is saved by grace, but they must continue to endure in that grace.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8, 9). We are saved by accepting the grace of God offered by Jesus’ death on the cross. We cannot work our way to Heaven that is what separates Christianity from other religions. However, this does not mean that we can sin on and get by, this scripture has been misused for years into making people thinking that lie.
God told Adam and Eve sin means death, and it still does today. People that teach Unconditional Eternal Security are disputing God. They have become like the snake in the Garden that Satan manipulated into tempting Eve. They have proclaimed God a liar, intentionally or not.
Those that peddle false doctrine are worse than dope pushers. They are peddling a doctrine that will lead people into an eternity of hell. The message of sin is death is the voice of God, and needs to be told today. God hates sin but loves the sinner, reaching out to help them. If someone says something contrary to the Word of God, consider them liars and deceivers because the truth is not in them.
Unfortunately, born-again is a concept most Christians really do not understand. It is not turning over a new leaf, Adam and Eve tried that. It is a spiritual and moral change. When one receives true salvation they are a new person completely. I know, because I once had this change and hope to get back to it.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death (John 8:51). Here is a verse that those that believe in eternal security never break down. That little word “if” is actually a huge word. When Jesus said if that alone made salvation conditional. IF a person keeps His sayings they will never see death; spiritual death.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:13, 14). This was the warning of the great Apostle Paul. One cannot be led by their own sprit, the spirit of the devil, or both mixed together. Paul used that word “if”, IF ye live after the flesh ye shall die. We must destroy the old person, bury them deep at Cavalry.
Nicodemus did not know Jesus; he probably sought Him by night for he was a Pharisee seeking someone scorned by many. Jesus told him Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).
Nicodemus responded Nicodemus saith unto him, how can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born (John 3:4)? Nicodemus did not have the spiritual understanding of a true born-again experience, like many today. Those that teach eternal security today say you can’t be unborn if you sin. It can happen; just as easy as one is born new they can fall back into sin, losing their salvation.
If one walks after the Spirit, but then starts walking after the flesh again, they become the same old sinner they used to be. In fact, the Lord Jesus Christ spoke of backsliding When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation (Matthew 12:43-45). The house; the soul, was once clean. Jesus was saying that when one goes back into sin even more devils come seeking that person than before. One cannot be devil-possessed and be a child of God.
You ask where did eternal security doctrine start? I say again, in the beginning with the devil. Many people have gotten message that came from the God, it doesn’t make it so And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light (II Corinthians 11:14). The devil has started many doctrines by coming to people who could not discern it was him.
The devil can put on a show and be good for a little while; and does through many people. I did this one time with someone that was putting on a show, I thought to myself they may have finally gotten saved. I prayed to God to let me know for sure. I had gotten that prayer out when just a few minutes later the phone rang and it was a telemarketer. They began to cuss the telemarketer and I knew they weren’t right.
Why is it important to live holy? What if that telemarketer needed Jesus, the whole witness if they had been holy was lost. They could not truly win that soul after treating them like that. It is essential that the believers be holy and without compromise. The Early Church was, and the Latter Church that is about to end will be the same way.
I will end here. I do not know how many read this, but when I am long gone from here it will be a testimony to the truth as long as it is made available on the web. I will continue soon.
