If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; (Colossians 1:23). There is that “if” word, again. If you continue in then faith, grounded and settled. Being settled in the faith does not involve sinning. If you sin, that means you gave up.
Paul wrote the Galatians the truth and told them their lives had to measure up to that truth. If a person’s life does not measure up to the Word of God then they won’t go to Heaven. Why do you think the Word was given? God did not need a Bible. It is the measuring tool for mankind.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). The minute one is saved they stop following their own desires. This scripture explains salvation perfectly. If a person continues talking and walking as they did before being saved then they are not a new creation. A person in Christ lives like Jesus, not like the old them.
The lie that if you sin you won’t die is what wrecked the world in the first place. This same lie is being told today in the damnable doctrine of eternal security. Some have said God knew Adam and Eve were going to sin because He is all knowing. He is all knowing, but he also can control what He knows. To say God knew they would sin is ridiculous! God would be to blame for death, sicknesses, diseases, heartache; all the evils of this world would be laid at His feet. God takes no blame, he created man with free choice.
It is the same today. When a person gets saved God does not look at their tomorrows to see if they will continue in the faith, God had man and woman keep free choice after the fall because He wanted to be loved because He is God, not because mankind is forced to.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:21). If you doubt any of the Word of God then you have doubts with God Himself. The Word cannot be separated from God. You cannot believe one verse and discount another, they all flow together. As I have said, there are no contradictions, every verse compliments the others. Thos claiming contradictions are only looking for excuses.
The lie of eternal security will be told until God says it is enough. One day all sin will be destroyed, and the containers carrying it.
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him (I John 3:15). You cannot have hate and abide in Christ. Many do not know what the word hate means. It means if given an opportunity and someone you hated was lost on their way to hell, you would let them go without showing them Jesus, the way of escape. I have never hated anyone. If Adolph Hitler wanted salvation; and it were possible, I’d try and help him. No matter what you may think, hell is an awful place and you would want no one there.
I have to stop there because the next verses must wait. The next scriptures I will be giving in a couple days are verses you may have never heard preached if the church you go to believes in once saved always saved. The verses I will share they cannot explain, therefore they avoid them. It will be an interesting lesson, I assure you.
