Status: Finished  |  Genre: Poetry  |  House: Booksie Classic

this is a poem I wrote back in high school, when I was about 17

I stand here, feeling the breeze blow through my hair.

Feeling alone and so full of despair.

I gaze out into the world, a world that can be so cruel.

I hear nothing but the silence,

The silence in which I have become immune to.

So much to hope for,

So much I dream of acomplishing

I stand here waiting for that small glimpse of light,

Instead I can only hear the darkness falling over me.

I see all the hate , I taste all the poison of the cruelty.

Thus trying to find a way in which I can gain some reassurance.

All the world,

All the pain.

Why must things be this way?

Has it always been natural for a society?

That heavily demands perfection?

What is perfection?

Each of us are unique in every way,

Watch soul is special,

Each being has their own talent and

Their own story to tell.

As I sit here and watch the others go by,

I make a solemn promise,

That I shall never think that way.

Some day I may find a society that if filled with the joys,

Of both love and happiness.

A place of acception and freedom.

A place to call my own
