I start doing the dishes. Go around the whole house, picking up any dishes from the rooms, left alone in the battle of a meal. I take them back to the kitchen and put them in the silver sink with the other dirty dishes. Plates with melted cheese, left over ketchup, crumbs from toast or fries. Cups with dried coffee, milk, or juice. Bowls with left over cereal, the little pieces just floating around like they own the place. The forks mixed with the knifes and spoons, all together with different stories of the food stuck to them. I fill the sink with hot water, pouring some dish soap in the stream of water flowing down, attacking the dishes. I grab a sponge and pick the first fallen victim. I scrub the plate clean, front and back. Then I rinse the warrior and place him on a towel to dry. I do the same with the rest of the plates then move on to bowls. I scrub inside and out, rinse and set to dry. I finish those and move on to the cups. I scrub inside and out, especially around the rim, rinse and set to dry. The silverware is harder. The water they sit in is now a mucky color, making it hard to tell where they hide. I search with my hand, carefully, and find some forks. I make sure their as clean as can be, before rinsing. I lay them on the towel, under plates or in between bowls and cups. I search again and find the spoons. I clean them, rinse them, and set them upside down, better for drying. I find the knifes, carefully clean them, and set them to dry with their companions. I let the water out of the sink, dry my hands, and leave the warriors to finish drying.
