Dear older sister,

Your oldest child is 5. Her father went to Iraq when she was 3, and was supposed to return before her 4th birthday.

He never did.

How much longer are you going to keep telling her "He's at work"?

When will you tell her, "He's not coming home"?

What are you going to say to her little sister who's 2?

He left before her first words. Before her first steps. What are you going to say when she asks about dad?

"He's at work" won't work forever. You're going to have to tell them sooner or later.

I know it hurts, but you have to stop lying to them. Tell them. Or at least say "He's working for God/Jesus."

At least that would be true, kinda.

Tell them the truth... It will all be ok.

Love, you caring and worried little sister.
