A blade bites down,

Trailing across my pale skin,

I feel nothing as I watch the blood ooze out,

Sliding down my skin,

Submitting to gravity,

I smile and think about what I have done,

I do it again and again,

I know you worry,

The thought of you stops me,

From digging the blade in deeper

And doing more damage,

And ending my life,

I am numb,

You don’t know what I feel,

The pleasure a simple cut brings,

I lie down,

Weak from the cutting,

I feel peace,

I feel calm,

I feel sick.

I hold back the feelings,

Ignore the urge.

I trace old cuts,

Feeling the little memories flood my thoughts,

I see the cutting,

How I forced the blade across,

It’s now easy, automatic

You don’t know why I do it

You don’t know how I feel

I wish you did.

I know it’s wrong,

If feels so good

Sorry…
