She held the hatchet in her hand
As tightly as she could.

The blood was spilled
from people she killed.

Above their bodies
She stiffly stood.

“It all will go away,”
She said.
“None of them will be missed.”

She knew too well
Of the gates of hell

Awaiting her.
A dark abyss.

The work was painful,
It strained her hard

Burning them to ashes
The painful image flashes

Their pleading eyes
Were now charred.

The guilt would never be suppressed
The lies would never end

She’d live forever
Her former life severed

She would never be human
Again.
