Anywhere the article Alien Vampires Ate My Granny is published people read it. Why?

Anywhere the article Alien Vampires Ate My Granny is published people read it.  Why?  Because the title draws them in, like a honey trap for a wasp, it is intriguing.  When writing articles on vampire fiction I try very hard to think of a title that will hook the reader, before they realise they are about to get a writing exercise or a theoretical piece.  It works, so when writing a novel, short story or poem one of the most important parts is the title.  Think of it as a hook, if someone is browsing titles make yours stand out.  Be the writer everyone clicks on first, draw the reader in am then give them something that makes them want to stay.

Oh, I like The Amazing Dr Sweeny!!! Its real catchy! I can see that as a movie. Plus they are both good titles but this one really reels me in!

Yeah titles are another pet project of mine. When reading manuscripts I'm sometimes angry when someone has obviously worked hard on writing and not on the title. Favourite title of a film Breakfast at Tiffanys could parody it for vamplit to Breakfast as Tiffangys?
