LOVE SONG

-Vanya Shekhar

18th September, 2011

I have never been loved,

I don’t know how to write a love song,

But when I hear your name,

Don’t know why, something goes wrong.

I feel a knot in my stomach,

A lump forms in my throat,

And I feel so heavy and light,

That I could together drown and float.

I have never been loved

I don’t know how to write a love song,

But when I see your face,

Don’t know why, something goes wrong.

I want to run away and stay

To look away and stare,

To speak and to be quiet

To do what’s not right.

I have never been loved,

I don’t know how to write a love song

But when I think of you,

Don’t know why, something goes wrong.

I wonder how you would sound

I wonder if you would smile,

Or maybe you would laugh at me

And wouldn’t even bother to say goodbye.

I dream of you and I together, hand in hand,

Walking down the beach bare-footed

Feeling the ticklish sand,

In my wonderland, in my wonderland.

I see us twirling  to the music

In a room so quiet,

The only audible sound being

Of our heartbeats gushing by.

And then I fear and I realize

Its all just imagination & I have to pay the price,

So the pain cuts through my bones

Breaking me down into tears,

And I cry, curled up in all my fears.

I have never been loved

How could I write a love song?

He could never love me back,

Because, I’m all wrong, all wrong.
