Wrath the fifth deadly sin

Summary

Wrath (Latin, ira)
Main articles: Wrath (anger, hatred, prejudice, discrimination)
Wrath may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. These feelings can manifest as vehement denial of the truth, both to others and in the form of self-denial, impatience with the procedure of law, and the desire to seek revenge outside of the workings of the justice system (such as engaging in vigilantism), fanatical political beliefs, and generally wishing to do evil or harm to others. A modern definition would also include hatred and intolerance towards others for reasons of race or religion, leading to discrimination. The transgressions borne of Wrath are among the most serious, including murder, assault, discrimination, and in extreme cases, genocide. (See Crimes against humanity.) Wrath is the only sin not necessarily associated with selfishness or self interest (although one can of course be wrathful for selfish reasons, such as jealousy). Dante described Wrath as "love of justice perverted to revenge and spite".

My fury incensed by the pusillanimous assassins

And so I climbed the ladder to my attic

This the place where long ago, I laid my trappings to rest

Why I speculate did I never burn them

In the gloom of that filtered light

I find my pitted and dusty trunk,

It holds the sinister secrets of that time

The secrets of once a young death giving life

I quiver as I remember the battle of old

The reek, the scream, the tang, the feel of their life force

As we closed their chapter, once again cascades across my mind

Those the forces of the Lucifer, the anti Christ who we cut down

On the great arena of the land that god made in anger

My comrades of old appear and as one

discharge the trunks of our veiled youth

leash on the now corroded blood blemished armour

chafe the ochre into our hides

Make our transition into the beast we once were

We have drawn our line in the earth

No more shall we defend as they cross

No more watch as they burn our love

We now pick up our rapiers

Re strap our pride and shields

It is time, it has come, and there is nothing left to lose

We once warriors, now warriors ready

With the stench of our deathly intention

We cross the line into their wretchedness

This time there shall be no one spared

It is good the river beds run desiccated

We shall fill them with putridity of their spineless blood

No longer are we believers of rainbows.
