I wrote this about two years ago. Out of all the poetry I have written, this one has really stuck out in my mind. It has always been one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it as well.

I had another of those dreams

Where you stare into the mirror

And the girl inside screams

But you just can't hear her

She wants to know how to gain

A new and better life

Instead she deals with the torment and pain

Of this icy cold knife

She ignores the pain and lets it go

Inside, she tries to hold in

The tears that threaten to show

But this battle she cannot win

She lets the blood flow

For she's just given up

It seems she's finally let go

And then you wake up
