This is my first attempt in archaic english. It's all about how one can conquer one's fate and reach a promising land with one's skill.

CONQUER ME IF THOU ART STRONGER

Why dost thou rejoice now, o silly fate?

That thou hast ruled me ov’r till date?

Along with the owl’s cry at night,

I hear thy shrill sound of delight.

~

Thou oft treat me with a scorn

To live in the dark even at dawn.

Dost thou think thy hold is strong?

Then I state that thou art wrong.

~

Anything that I touch hath its fall

Is that thou wanted to hear from all?

Mercy and care thou show’d me not

Yet with an iron will, alone I fought.

~

To lure and trap me thou threw all sorts of bait

Yet with patience  for the right time did I wait.

Took my pen that’s mightier than the sword

To knockout the barriers and march onward.

~

Anon, I listen only to my heart’s command

Which hath led me to a new promising land.

Hither and yon, all that I look on seemeth green

Frail fate! Go hideth thyself lest thou art not seen.

~

Lo! Only the meek wilt be thy slave, nay, not me

A lady with a sturdy heart hath risen ov’r the lea

And hath broken thy walls, ain’t I stronger than thee?

God hath graced me to conquer thee, just wait and see.
