Look, on the horizon, see the blood red sky,

there's roiling clouds gathering, gaining strength from a lie.

Out of the west, but that's just the latest storm,

there's really no where to run, hide, it's just the new norm.

Everybody's seeking shelter, but there's none to be found,

just put your hands over your eyes, and go to ground.

The old protections won't protect any more,

Whether we like it or not, the storm is raging ashore.

Now it's every man for himself, no longer safety in numbers.

We let the wolves in while the hen's all slumbered.

Fell asleep at the switch, and woke up to a nightmare,

just ordinary citizens caught in their snare.

At their mercy, wishing for normal, but the wish is in vain.

The wind's gaining strength, soon will come the driving rain.

Hang on tight, it's going to be a bumpy night, bumpy years.

Speak of the devil, and he, and they, will appear.
