~Update: Contest Winners~

After a thorough revision of all submissions, and a lot of thinking (for this was a very hard decision for me), here are the winners and runner-ups (which means they were almost in the top3).

First place: "How it was Intended" by Dave Lukens [https://www.booksie.com/posting/dave-lukens/how-it-was-intended-459719]

Second place: "A Perfect Memory" by M K Brown [https://www.booksie.com/posting/m-k-brown/a-perfect-memory-348973]

Third place: "Voices" by Johnny Q [https://www.booksie.com/posting/johnny-q/voices-432762]

Runner-ups (in no particular order):

"The Fallout" by Oleg Roschin [https://www.booksie.com/posting/oleg-roschin/the-fallout-442540]

"Valkyrie Cry" by Sa.L.T [https://www.booksie.com/posting/sa.l.t/valkyrie-cry-458247]

Thank you to all who participated. Keep in mind that all your stories were very well-written, and that it was tough to pick from all the talent.

Please don't message me to reconsider my choices, as this was a fun little contest anyway :)

~Update: Scoring~

The stories will be reviewed on originality, grammar and "meaningfulness".

By "meaningfulness", I will be asking myself, "how strongly do I feel that this is definitely one of the stories I want others (your target audience) to read?"

~Requirements~

- The story must be of 5,000 words or less (please add a word count, it'd make my life easier)

- The theme may vary

- The story must convey a meaningful/deep message for children or young adults (<18 years old)

- Therefore, old and/or published writings are OK!

- Must be submitted by April 25, 2016

- Have fun writing! This is supposed to be a fun contest :)

~Prizes~

First place: I will post a link to your story on my profile, fan you, read 5,000 words of 1 work - or - 2,500 words each of 2 works (you decide) and comment on the work(s) I read

Second place: I will post a link to your story on my profile, fan you, read 2,500 words of 1 work and comment on it

Third place: I will post a link to your story on my profile, fan you, read 2,500 words of 1 work and comment on it

I will fan all runner up writers as well :)

~Submissions~

- Due date: I will not accept any works past the day of April 28 (that is 23:59 EST)

- Winners will be announced May 15, but I will also leave a short response as I read each submission

EDIT: Sorry, I've been super busy this past week and haven't finished reading all The entries. I'll for sure announce the winners by the end of the month. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused :(

EDIT2: I've read almost all submissions, so I will most likely post the winners tomorrow night! Thank you for your patience and understanding.

- You can either: comment a link/title on this post - or - send me a private message with link/title
