You turn up, uninvited,
with that cheeky-boy grin
and I just raise an eyebrow.
You’re full, slightly
drunk and when you burp,
it’s funny. I know what
you want, so I keep you
preoccupied at the bottom
of the stairs with giggles
and kisses; some lingering
childish foreplay...and when
I can’t hold-off the inevitable
any longer, we disappear into
my room and you get it.
You got what you wanted,
and as you left—and I lingered
at the door—, whispered...
“Aren’t you glad I came?”
