How many birthday cards belated?

Christmas memories that faded?

Still we hold on to each other,

People wonder why we bother.

Why make life more complicated?

It’s really not simple at all,

Why we both refuse to fall.

Maybe we’re making our way

To put this time in yesterday.

For the meantime we just stall…

Yes, there’s hardships to live through,

Sometimes we don’t have a clue

To what really should be done.

We take misery for fun,

All for hope of life anew…

Cuts us like a knife serrated,

When we go through life paraded.

People see our children grow,

Shake their heads ‘cause they don’t know,

Why we make life Complicated.
