When I moved here in the third grade, the most popular girl in class dumped her right hand girl to claim me as her possession. Her previous monkey looked at me and said "What do you think you are doing?"

Halfway through freshman year, I got dumped by my first real boyfriend. I looked him right in the eye and said, "What do you think I am? Some disposable piece of shit?" He didn't even give me a reason.

I used to get straight A's. Then I got to the tenth grade, and Pre-Calc, and AP classes, and then things got hard. Really hard. I started to struggle, and I lost the one thing that people really knew me for: my brain. My intelligence. People questioned what had happened to me. What did they think I was?

I tried out for the fall play, something I'd been wanting to do but hadn't done. I made it, as one of Dracula's slutty wives. I wore fishnets and did my hair very curly and big. My mom looked at on opening night and said, "What do you think you are?"

I made it into my school's audition choir, an elite a capella group. The other girls who tried out and didn't make it, the junior and seniors, looked at me and said, "Who do you think you are?"

Now I'm running for Junior Class Vice President. The other girls running looked at me and said, "Who do you think you are?" One of them is on the dance team. One of them does every sport known to mankind. One of them is the class clown and the last of them is completely gorgeous.

I have a wonderful boyfriend. He's amazing. I have a great family and a 3.8 weighted GPA. I'm your average run-of-the-mill high school girl, with friends and a particularly average appearance. I dress well. My favorite class is Biology. I like Pirates of the Carribean and Pretty Little Liars.

That's what I think I am. Apparently that's not good enough for some people.
