It happens so fast. In the blink of an eye. You can't feel it. You can't sense it. You can't describe it.
You can imagine it.
In the last breath, everything is seen clearly. In the moment before death, life flashes before you.
It's not sudden. It's expected.
An extremely rapid release of energy occurs. It starts with a blinding flash that rips at your pupils, crying as they swell. Your high pitch screech fades into the unknown as the scars of your vocal chords rupture the veins in your neck.Your eyes close. Blood escapes in a hushed hurry from the holes in your skin.Your body aches. An unfamiliar pain washes over you as a collage of bright red flames seizes your skin. The flames are fierce, they are never afraid to take a life.
A life. Something you just had.
Your soul finally shattered. Your body, taken away. There's nothing left. Was there even anything at all?
A lonely fog forms and engulfs your last wish. Buildings crumble around the remnants of your soul. Ash falls from above and lingers throughout your skin.
And as you lay, you are left. And as you rest, you are forgotten.
Tormented and betrayed, you realize that it's too late. The end has swept over.
Time has run out.

Thu, July 7th, 2011 5:02amThis is an amazing way to describe death; deep, sorrowful and painful. It made me feel that you had actually experienced death yourself, haha. Splendid writing. :)
Thu, July 7th, 2011 3:14pmI imagine this being an intense situation, it may just be me. I don't think this will be dying calmly, but rather in a horrible disease or being murdered. Good writing. Short and elegant.

I always wonder what death feels like. Sometimes, it makes me sad to know that someday, we are all going to die. But it also makes me remember the best moments in life.
