I WROTE THIS POEM WHEN I WAS FEELING A LITTLE INSECURE ABOUT MYSELF. ITS A POEM THAT REFLECTS HOW I USED TO FEEL ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS OF ME AND HOW I DEALT WITH IT. I HOPE IT PROVIDES SOME INSPIRATION TO OTHERS. IF YOU COULD LEAVE ME A LITTLE COMMENT TO GIVE ME YOUR HONEST OPINIONS I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT AS IT ALL HELPS ME IN DEVELOPING MY PASSION FOR POETRY...

Mind your own business,
I say when people stare,
I ignore the nasty comments,
I've learnt not to care.
I'm no longer afraid of them,
They no longer make me mad,
I don't let it get to me
I don't let it make me sad.
It's not like it just happened,
Or crept up on me one day,
It's something I was born with,
So I've always been this way.
I've had plenty of time to get used to it,
I'm comfortable with who I am,
I know what's inside more important,
I just wish they'd all understand.
Like me, there's a rule you can follow,
And the same applies to books,
You should never judge a book by its cover,
So don't let them judge you by your looks.
Ignore it when they make comments,
Don't run away and hide,
Look into the mirror and say,
"I'm beautiful inside"!
