Speak to me in tribal tones

and I will hear you from the top

of my shattered shell

so cold and deep

created for one purpose.

Break down this purpose-set me free

to show me what my life can be.

My heart so hungry, stale and breathless

has awaited your return

from my dreams and all my thoughts

so feverish in their wanting.

Take me from this imprisoned night

so reverencing in it's splendor

The way your eyes shine in this time

so not of mine, or even yours

but somewhere too faraway to see.

I wonder how the song will be sung

a thousand years from now

and I know it will be exactly the same-

perfect, shattered, and all alone, in its singular beauty.

Tell me that you love me.
