At the time of writing I felt like I was killing the person who thought I was curing them...

You tell me I'm the cure

To your ever oppressive disease

But can you tell me what I've done

Because this idea I can't seem to seize

Let us go back to the beginning

When we could be called no more than friends

We would talk for hours upon hours

Hoping the words would never end

One faithful night, I became yours

And our shared bond made the world seem so free

Excitement as we learned about each other

And then I wondered what our future might be

I cannot spend my life with you

As I do not love you that way

I know that this will break your heart

But this is what I have to say

A poisonous cure

Working both good and evil

In every way

It'll help you,

And it'll hurt you

Until you cannot get away

Or remove yourself from me

A killing cure

Yeah, it's all that I am

Because I don't love you

As you love me

It's a wretched curse

Get out while you still can

Leave me now

Go save yourself

Lest you come addicted

And can't find anyone else

You need someone to save you

But I'm not the one to do it

For you, I'll never be good enough

I lack the strength to walk you through it

A poisonous cure

Working both good and evil

In every way

It'll help you,

And it'll hurt you

Until you cannot get away

Or remove yourself from me

A killing cure

Yeah, it's all that I am

Because I don't love you

As you love me

It's a wretched curse

Get out while you still can

So this is my farewell

No death shall make us part

It is time to change the bond

That links us in our hearts
