Time can be very, very confusing sometimes.

I can't help but ponder, over the  mysteries of time

They confuse me, uproot me! and my peacefully settled mind

If we were to walk the same Earth twice,

Then walk back, only faster, thrice -

Does that mean we have altered time?

See what I mean? It has uprooted your mind.

So I sit similarly to you, at a desk on a chair

I breathe, you breathe, we breath the same air

Yet not only are we many thousand miles apart

(Despite the consistency of our beating hearts)

We walk and breathe and eat and play

Simultaneously, in different hours, on different days

We read a word, on the count of three

And yet, you've already said it before me

Or is I that has raced ahead of time?

And your the one, that is left behind?

Unsure of where I truly stand

Quite literally, if you understand

This game that time has played

Has left me quite dismayed

Confused if so, we are both this time

but never at the same time, mind!

You see, we are racing, on the same track

Just Four Hours Forwards. Four hours back.

Intersting and clever. The time difference's between us are like being in a time warp. Good job and nice flow to it.I'm sure this one took a lot of time to think through.

Hey thanks :)
Yeah, time warp, definately. And actually, it was quite spontaneous. I had the idea whislt talking to a fellow booksier, then wrote it :D

Thanks for reading :)

Now this is a poem deserving of a "Like It" It is extremely well written and very thought provoking. I feel like it challenges something. Im not sure what though...NICE WORK!

Perhaps challenging time itself, wondering why it has to be so confusing! =D Thank you so much

Wow, you're right - time is confusing, but this poem perfectly conveyed that confusion in an almost non-confusing way. Did that sentence confuse you much? Haha :D Anyhow, amazing poem :)

A very thought-provoking and introspective look at the nature of time and our race through it. I enjoyed it very much.

Imagine, just for fun, a possible poet from somewhere in the Andromeda galaxy, 2.2 million light-years away. If she cast her poem into the deep right now, it would reach us in 2.2 million years. If she looked into her telescope, she would see us as we were the same amount of time ago.

Maybe she is racing on the same track (what does "right now" even mean?) Excellent write.

Thank you so much. And thats so true, there can never truly BE a "right now", look at that lol, It's already gone!!
Wow, yes, light-years, thats very interesting, mind boggling stuff. Like looking at some star in the galaxies through a telescope, many millions of light years away, it could already be dead, a black hole now, but we see it that many million light years ago, a "right now" For us, or then rather (hehe), and a long time ago for that star. Wow O.o I'm perplexed already!!

Haha =D Thank you

hmm time is relative, such a point as "right now" therefore could exist, RELATIVE to the person experiencing it. So time exists simply because we exist. You see your poem made me think, and is therefore a good poem, but it is your writing style and its flow that make it a great one :D

Awwies =D Thank you Francis.
Yes, true about The Relativty factor....Hmmm, lol I'm no scientist, time confuses me a lot! :D

Thanks Francis
