What do you hear as you pound pound pound
on my deeply imposing walls
It is but a ringing in your ears
or a whisper in the wind
Can you hear the shake and rattle of my bones
as I begin to clench tight
firmly you poke and prod at my spine
taunting my cleverly crafted exoskeleton
that I wear so proudly for the world to see
To you its only a gentle Kneading and adding of ingredients
A sprinkle of salt here
a cup of flour there
All necessary ingredients to make a fine bread
one worthy of yourself
A grandeur loaf fit for a king
There you stand high atop your stacks of accomplishments
Armed with your silver studded gavel
I intently watch your sharp tongue as it snakes from side to side
harshly unleashing the verdict
one solid crushing wave at a time
I begin begging for the tide to recede
Lungs filled but still writhing and gasping for air
SLOWLY STILL
soaking up the water so I wont drown i begin to see the horizon
A pristine crest of yin and yang
our makeshift symphony of broken glass and endless tomorrows
existing as one
but still sharing two roads
both relishing in our soft mistakes
and rare and infinite duality
