I promise you, I get it.

You say you care about me,
Because it's something to do.

You try to make me smile,
While you wait for your chance to run.

I understand you don't like it here,
I don't really either.

So, I see how I don't matter.

I'm just a little girl,
Living in the state you hate so much,
I'm nothing but a pawn in the game you play.

I fell for you so quickly,
I had no time to read your eyes.

Your intentions of ripping me apart,
They were never clear until now.

I'd ask to come with you,
But I'd only drag you down.

I'll love you forever,
And for always,
This fact will never change.

I just wonder if you'll remember me when you go,
If you'll remember my hugs,
My kisses,
How you came to my bed,
And you claimed what was rightfully yours.

I think how you'll touch another girl,
How you'll hold her like you held me.

It makes me sick,
Thinking of another loving you.

I want to be selfish,
To hide you away forever,
But I'd miss your smile too much.

Your beautiful grin,
As you flip your hair from your gorgeous chocolate eyes.

No, I could never take that beauty from the world.

So, I'll sit here in my room,
Cuddle the teddy bear you made fun of,
And continue fighting back the molten hot tears.

Just please remember,
I love you.
