About death, I suppose. I was inspired by a dream and a cranky old man.

Madame Death is a shrouded figure

that can never be seen

until it’s too late.

She wields a long dark dagger

that she uses

to slice the poor soul from its body.

She eases the soul,

whether it’s old and withered

or new and bright,

into the dark sling

that blends into her cloak.

She then takes her dagger

and stabs it into the loved ones hearts,

making sure they can feel the pain

of losing someone.

But sometimes she forgets

and it takes them a long time

to cry and let it out.

In the end it’s still the same.

You’ve lost the person,

and you feel for them.

You’ll never forget them,

but life will go on.
