So, it's not really a short story, but it's something close to it. It could be, if anyone thought it would be good, though. It's about a girl named Rachel who works at a grocery store.

As she reached up to the top shelf, Rachel never felt her foot slip. The only thing she was aware of was the fact that she knew at least half of her dead rose tattoo was showing, and she thought that Jake Shelton, newest employee, was looking at it.

When he caught her, he had to drop the entire box of smaller boxes of pancake mix, and even then, he caught her so smoothly that the shoppers probably thought it was rehearsed.

"Put me down," Rachel whispered. "That old lady looks like she's expecting us to burst into song about how helpful the employees here are.

Laughing, Jake set her down. The old lady shuffled over with her brownie mix.

"Are you okay, Dearie?" she squeaked.

"I'm fine, thank you," Rachel answered, smiling but trying not to laugh.

"Just checking. Oh, and would you mind reading me the ingredients on this recipe?" the old lady asked, and pointed to the recommended recipe on the side of the box.

I love her, too!! She was always my favorite!! I thought to include her in the tags, but I didn't know if people would get offended if I had "Old lady" as one of them... but thanks again!!
