Momma

By Alexis V. Jaime

Dedicated to Dora A. Jaime

She’s the one I can rely on

when I feel like I’m going down

She knows just what to tell me

she knows how to fix my frown

No one can replace her

she’s as unique as a brick of gold

So beautiful and astounding

but only a few of us can hold

If you ever need a helping hand

she extends hers with kindness

She will always be there for you

no matter how big your crisis

She cared for her babies

all on her own

We appreciate her more than ever

now that we are grown

We thank her for everything

she always placed us first

She kept on going for us

even at her worst

No matter what life brought her

no matter how much the pain

She smiled for her children

through sunny days and rain

When life brought us down

and it felt like the end

She held us so close

and was there like a best friend

I feel very lucky

to have her as my mother

She’s perfect in every way

like her there is no other
