A poem of Love and Devotion.

The Blackbirds song.

The Blackbirds song tells of a life of love,

Caught on the breeze and spun from above.

It’s billowed chest as proud as a father,

He courts and coos with his dark haired lover.

Our skin pressed together,

Our bodies coiled and wound,

Our eyes locked forever,

Our hearts tied and bound.

I listen to his song and the stories he tells,

And I dream of a voyage under taffeta sails.

We will fly to the castle at the mouth of the Dart,

On the wings of the Blackbird, never more to be apart.
