The Way To My Heart

The soft hues of twilight drift in through a window.

Returning my gaze again to my reflection in the mirror.

A scar rests on my chest; an imageless tattoo of my very survival.

This scar is an entrance to the chambers of my vibrant heart,

Two marks becoming one; when I was placed in my mother's arms so many fortnights ago.

Like the needle that gave me this imageless tattoo

I am without definition, place or time.

One can pry into my heart through a scar.
