Through Disabled Eyes

Eyes drift open to greet another day,

The world whizzes around this pair of grey blue eyes as in a state of suspended time, gazing at the hues of a sunset emblazoned in the portals of the mind.

The tightening of a seat belt, the locking of leg rests into place,

All the norms of my societal identity escape through slots of my fractured psyche;

As I am not  formed by conventional definition or space.

Differet masks are plastered to my face,

The adverse scars of my past seem impossible to erase.

But from the ashes of marginalization, a warrior continues to rise,

This is my view of existence through blue grey disabled eyes.
