"Do not touch the exhibits!" our first grade teacher commanded as she patted the head of an ancient Aztec idol during our trip to the museum. "Bad things happen when we touch."

She waved us away with a flick of her wrist, stumbled into a corner and slumped to the floor. They said it was cardiac arrest. They were perplexed. How could she have died so young?

"I know!" I exclaimed with childish enthusiasm. "She touched the idol."

Naturally, they paid me no attention. After all, I was just a kid.
