Whitewaters Poetry Presents: I Met A Jewel

INTRODUCTORY MUSIC PLAYS

I met a jewel,

I once thought that she was for me;

I was so taken

By her personality.

I met a jewel,

She almost took my love away;

Her name was Ruby

And she glowed brightly every day...

Chorus:

I took her to parties,

Bought her all that she wished for,

I treated her just like a queen;

I wanted to make love to her,

And marry her, I told her I would;

She then revealed to me what a buffoon I had been....

I met a jewel,

Who betrayed me behind my back;

I later found out,

Causing my own heart to crack.

I met a jewel,

Who told me I had lots to learn;

Love's jewel always shatters,

And adultery's flame will always burn.

Chorus:

I took her to parties,

Bought her all that she wished for,

I treated her just like a queen;

I wanted to make love to her,

And marry her,I told her I would,

She then revealed to me what a buffoon I had been....

CODA MUSIC THEN PLAYS.
